Job Details:

This position will be responsible for conducting all aspects of the Value Institute's qualitative research as it relates to the work of clinical transformation and innovation including but not limited to the development of projects, project logistics, facilitating field research, analyzing data, synthesizing insights, and preparing and delivering presentations. The Sr. Qualitative Research Coordinator will also work with the Value Institute team to author and develop materials for dissemination of insights, such as reports, case studies, presentations, and workshops.


  • Conduct qualitative research with participants, in both English and Spanish, to better understand peoples' experiences living with particular medical conditions. Facilitates conversations with the Value Institute team regarding the insights from this research, which are then used to inform clinical redesign 60% Page 2 of 3 opportunities. Conduct qualitative research with care providers to understand current care delivery models and challenges.
  • Provide coordination and logistics support for all research recruitment, analysis, presentation, and workshop activities including but not limited to submitting institutional review board applications and creating relevant project documents such as discussion guides and recruitment documents (e.g., flyers, social media posts).
  • Work with the Value Institute team to analyze and synthesize research data and develop materials for dissemination of insights, including but not limited to reports, case studies, presentations, and workshops.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for communicating with participants in Spanish.
  • Translate project-related documents into Spanish as needed.
  • Train and supervise students.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of related experience or Master's degree and two (2) years of related experience. Prior experience conducting qualitative or user experience research. Ability to communicate in Spanish fluently and comfortably, both in person and in writing. Demonstrated listening skills, empathy, and discretionary judgment. Demonstrated excellent analytical skills, problem solving ability, and strong critical thinking skills. Excellent communication skills. Demonstrated ability to exercise resourcefulness and good judgment in a fast-paced environment and ability to manage multiple streams of work. Detail-oriented. Interest in and commitment to learning about frameworks for value-based health care. Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.     Preferred Qualifications

    Master's degree or higher in related field. Experience conducting ethnographic qualitative research. Experience with design thinking and/or the design process. Prior knowledge related to health care and health policy or experience working in a health care setting. Experience creating compelling presentations. Experience with on-line whiteboard and collaboration applications such as Miro or Mural. Experience using qualitative data analysis software.

    Salary Range

    $55,000 + depending on qualifications

        Employment Eligibility:
