The Opportunity As Company enters its next phase of rapid growth, we are looking for a dynamic, experienced, and results-focused Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to join the senior leadership team, reporting to the CEO. A critical member of the executive team, the CMO will lead the company’s marketing strategy and campaigns which will drive substantial growth in demand and thought leadership as we take a compelling offering to market. This role will be accountable for oversight of all aspects of marketing including Demand Generation, Brand, Product Marketing, Field Marketing & Enablement, while positioning Company as the clear thought leader in our space. The CMO will partner with the CEO to assess the company’s marketing strategy and execution and drive a coherent strategy for sustained success. Specific Responsibilities Oversee and manage all aspects of marketing strategy and activities to support the company’s overall strategies and objectivesDirect responsibility for lead generation and sales enablement, and partnering tightly with the Sales leadership to feed a complex and lengthy go-to-market machineDrive thought leadership and positioning for Company. We are creating a category and have a clear competitive advantage in our product offeringScale our lead generation capabilities across multiple channels, including search engine marketing (SEM/paid), search engine optimization (SEO/unpaid), social (paid and unpaid), and content advertisingMotivate and lead a high-performance team; provide active mentoring as a cornerstone to career development The Candidate The ideal candidate is methodical, data-driven, and operationally-oriented - driving the team’s activities by desired business outcomes. S/he is a results-oriented executive and possesses deep marketing expertise and an acute awareness of how external stakeholders think. His/her relevant experience and demeanor enables her to earn the trust and respect of both external stakeholders and internal stakeholders during a period of growth and change.S/he has had recent experience as CMO at a rapidly growing SaaS company, with strong familiarity lead generation programs and field marketing and enablement. S/he is a fast and flexible learner, an adaptable team leader, and has taken a company (or companies) through multiple phases of its life-cycle, scaling to $100M ARR+. S/he is expert at striking a balance between managing the day-to-day marketing functions and helping guide the strategic direction of Company. Professional Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and/or Business, MBA is a plus Proven track record in leading marketing within the midmarket / enterprise SAAS software Stage experience growing from $25M to $100M+ Strong management, coaching, training, and team development skills whether scaling inheriting teams Personal Characteristics Intellectual horsepower, combined with the ability to listen, understand, and analyze in order to make thoughtful data-driven decisions Alignment with Company’s values; high standards for success, high work ethic, and intellectual honesty “First Team” mentality with decisions made for the good of the business first and for their team second Results-oriented with a deep level of personal accountability A passion for experimentation, and the ability to institutionalize new insights broadly Highly analytical and metrics drivenImpeccable integrity and ethical standards Entrepreneurial with a high level of energy, and unrelenting drive to succeed
