When we launched in 2012, we created a category by offering a small, fast, and accessible wood-fired pizza oven that gave ordinary people the critical tool to make great pizza at home.

Exponential growth, global distribution, an ever-expanding product portfolio well beyond ovens, and a growing community of Ooni-lovers around the world who sing our praises and treat their friends and family to epic pizza. A Little About the JobWe're seeking an established food writer and recipe editor who can assign, edit, write and liaise content for our ongoing blog efforts. You will work closely with our Content Manager and French and German Content Manager to plan and meet weekly deadlines for our annual content calendar, editing articles, recipes and social media posts written in-house by the Content Team and commissioned from freelance writers before passing them along to the Copy, Production, and Social teams for a final line edit, proof-read and publication.
Expect an exciting role that will see you work as part of our Content team, leading the development and optimisation of content that engages pizza-makers of all skill levels around the world and helps build our brand authority.
In an ideal world, you'd have an extensive background in pizza-making and writing and editing pizza and pizza-related content, but a strong culinary background and a passion for pizza, and an interest in learning and teaching yourself about it qualifies you too.
A Little More About the Job (the details):It is essential that you:

• Have experience editing and writing recipes and recipe headnotes according to best practices (ingredient order matches methodology order)
• Have a background writing and editing recipes for cookbooks, print, or online publications, ideally with experience optimizing content for online publication and search
• Have a well-rounded knowledge of ingredients, cooking methods, techniques, and a variety of diet types
• Have a curiosity about global culinary and pizza traditions
• Know how to contextualize culinary traditions and techniques in a way that makes recipes accessible to neophytes and still interesting to more experienced cooks
• Are interested and willing to guide writers and freelance cooks on assignments (or edit their work) in a way that establishes recipes as the authoritative approach to the subject
• Are familiar with Google Apps and are tech-savvy enough to learn additional software programs as they arise
• Are a team player with strong communication skills
• Demonstrate excellent writing skills
• Are attentive to detail
• Are passionate about food and cooking and want to work with a rapidly growing startup
• Love pizza (like, really love it)
  Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree
  • At least three years of professional food and recipe writing experience (this is essential)
  • One of the following: culinary school, professional restaurant experience, recipe editor, cookbook writer/editor
    Responsibilities include:
    • Writing, proof-reading, and editing recipes and blog posts, including headnotes (150- to 300-word minimum) and longer-form pieces 500 to 800 words
    • Helping to manage the content calendar
    • Ideating content around regional and global holidays and events
    • Coordinating posts with our Content Managers (US & France and Germany), Culinary Advisors, Regional Brand Managers, Social Video Manager, freelancers, and Copy team
    • Researching and assigning authority-building and fun contributors and content ideas
    • Spearheading long-term initiatives (e-books and product launch-oriented efforts)
