Job Overview: Marketing Director responsibilities include tracking and analyzing the performance of advertising campaigns, managing the marketing budget and ensuring that all marketing material is in line with our brand identity. To be successful in this role, you should have hands-on experience with web analytics tools and be able to turn creative ideas into effective advertising projects. Ultimately, you will help us build and maintain a strong and consistent brand through a wide range of online and offline marketing channels. You must care deeply about our mission in transforming lives to seek insights, motivations, and ultimately act upon them in ways that inspire a person to join, staying longer, and ultimately we become a small part in improving someone's life through fitness.
Our Marketing Director supports our purpose "to enrich the lives of others through the power of well-being" through taking personal initiative to ensure the success of the organization and achievement of established and future goals.
Primary Activities & Responsibilities:

  • Communication - Gain support for programs and promotions across the company through clear and effective communication. Develop communication cadences and direct channels of communication to best support the execution of marketing drivers from the executive leadership team to the frontline operations team by showcasing a fully vetted program with expected measurements of success.

  • Creativity - Create programs and promotions based on the company's objectives and growth milestones using the brand look, tone and feel. Programs and promotions must align with the consumer need and market demand unique to each DMA. Programs and promotions must cover a multi-channel approach and execute an integrated strategy.

  • Tech Savvy - Leverage technology to increase program and promotion efficiency. Must understand how to manage strategy through digital and traditional channels while creating and executing a promotion and content calendar each month.

  • Negotiation Skills - Must manage and negotiate marketing contracts through vendor partnerships. Clearly understand the objective of each buy and manage reach, frequency, and impressions through vendor agreements.

  • Leadership - Inspire and lead while pulling the whole team together in pursuit of shared goals. Leads by example to emulate expected behaviors. Is hyper focused on developing direct reports from a D1 development status to a D4 development status.

  • Ability to work for a team - Be able to make sense of the process and understand how their contributions, as well as those of their team, affect the organization as a whole. Must contribute to the company's overall success through effective project and time management.

  • Analytical Skills - Must understand the data that is available and know what it indicates about the preferences and behaviors of the targeted audience and overall program results. Positioned to use the knowledge to spot trends, create campaigns, and measure outcomes.

  • Financial Management - Must manage a budget based on projections and the overall company's EBITDA goal. Have a strong pulse on actual spend vs. diminish in return to ensure CPA efficiencies. Understand how to maximize the return on investment by spending the right amounts in the right areas unique to each DMA.

  • Support - Partners with all organizational departments to best support programs through marketing alignment. Support both unique and reoccurring company initiatives designed to improve the overall member experience and meet the company's financial targets. Be available to mentor and partner with frontline operators to improve marketing processes, brand awareness and membership growth.

  • Ultimate Outcome - Owns lead generation, driving guest door swings and hitting traffic targets for each month. Must be strategic, creative and deliver on lead targets for New Store Openings and existing club growth plans. Expert at understanding our member and their views and desires so we can align our brand messaging to their needs and grow their Life Time Value.

      Required Education and Experience:
      • Experience in the fitness industry or recurring membership business model

      • Experience in driving retention strategies to grow member LTV

      • Demonstrable experience in marketing together with the potential and attitude required to learn

      • Proven experience in identifying target audiences and in creatively devising and leading across channels marketing campaigns that engage, educate and motivate

      • Experience in developing and executing lead generation campaigns to deliver a front loaded membership plans for new store openings - minimum 7K leads prior to presale event

      • Solid knowledge of website, email and social analytics tools

      • Experience in setting up and optimizing social, digital and email campaigns - focusing on delivering a strong CPA through targeted lead generation tactics

      • Experience in negotiating and managing media buys via traditional channels

      • Numerically literate, comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics and processing figures with spreadsheets

      • Experience in managing Local Store Marketing programs and supporting community events

      • Experience in budget management and reconciliation

      • A sense of aesthetics and a love for great copy and witty communication

      • Experience in managing graphic design - graphic design skill is a plus

      • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online and traditional marketing and measurement

      • BS degree in Marketing or related field

      • Preferred minimum 8 years marketing management experience
        Physical Demands:
        • Requires extended use of computer and peripheral equipment.

        • Prolonged stints of sitting working in an office environment.

        • Must be able to drive for extended periods of time as needed.
          Travel Requirement:
          • Standard month consists of 25% travel
