Back Office Analyst

Job Description:

This position is responsible for supporting the Marketing and Logistics team in daily activities including counterparty administration, invoice settlements, and regulatory reporting.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Administrate trade confirmation process for all applicable natural gas trades
  • Invoice creation, distribution, and settlement of physical natural gas transactions
  • Coordinate with counterparties to resolve invoice reconciliation discrepancies proactively and timely via collaboration with trading and scheduling
  • Understand contract details, fees, rates, and payment schedules to ensure settlement and cash flow data produced by the ETRM is complete and accurate
  • Maintain counterparty reference data within all relevant applications to ensure consistency across the entire platform
  • Provide support to Accounting with regards to month-end accruals and AR/AP reconciliations
  • Administrate counterparty onboarding process within ETRM
  • Administrate daily exchange operations, including validation and approval of daily margining receipts/disbursements
  • Assist in preparation of any pertinent regulatory filings
  • Support data gathering efforts for financial audits and regulatory inquiries
  • Assist in special projects and financial analysis as requested Requirements & Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related discipline
    • 1-3 years of commodity settlement experience
    • Ability to multi-task, grasp complex issues, as well as pay strict attention to details
    • Self-motivated with a meticulous attention to detail and ability to produce high quality results
    • Possess written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong proficiency MS Office including intermediate to advanced Excel skills
    • Strong analytical, critical and economical thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Teamwork skills required: Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills and effectively collaborate with others to optimize team success
    • Strong problem-solving capabilities and internal motivation for fundamental understanding of pipeline and systems operations.
