role: In the role of Tax Manager at eBay you will be a key
contributor to the quarterly and annual ASC 740 provision for a
large, multinational organization! In this role you will report to
our Senior Manager, Tax Provision (ASC 740) . You will prepare and
reconcile core provision workpapers, build and run ONESOURCE
calculations, maintain Alteryx workflows, and produce accurate
tie-outs and disclosures. You’ll support forecast provision,
valuation allowance analyses, stock-based compensation tax impacts,
and respond to financial statement auditor requests. This role
blends rigorous execution, data/process improvement, and clear
communication with cross-functional partners! What you will
Accomplish: Execute provision tasks end to end under manager
guidance: maintain quarter close calendar, capture inputs, and
complete assigned workpapers and journals on schedule. Prepare
ETR/rate reconciliations, provision-to-return analyses, and
detailed tie-outs to financials; draft journal entries for review.
Reconcile tax balance sheet accounts and investigate variances;
perform ONESOURCE Payables-to-GL tie-out and document resolutions.
Build and maintain PBCs; respond to auditor requests with accurate
schedules, evidence, and narratives. Operate ONESOURCE Tax
Provision: update entities/attributes, tax rates, apportionment,
valuation allowances, and SBC models; ensure mappings and controls
are current. Design, run, and enhance Alteryx workflows for data
ingestion/transformation with appropriate checks and audit trails;
integrate with Google Drive and ERP extracts. Standardize source
files and maintain repeatable processes; contribute to dashboards
and executive-ready summaries. Update and validate SBC tax models;
load results to ONESOURCE and reconcile to GAAP. Perform targeted
technical research (ASC 740, state and international topics) and
draft concise memos for manager review. Support SOX controls over
tax reporting: prepare evidence, assist with walkthroughs/testing,
and remediate findings. Document processes, checklists, and review
protocols; propose cycle-time and error-rate improvements.
Prepare/review separate-entity provisions (domestic/international)
to align with consolidated outcomes. Partner with Accounting,
FP&A, Treasury, and regional Tax teams to resolve data issues
and align forecasts/transactions. Present key provision drivers and
cash tax impacts in meetings with Tax leadership; provide clear,
concise analyses. What you will Bring: Dedication to working
3days/week in out Austin, Texas office. 5–7 years of corporate
tax/ASC 740 experience, including direct preparation of
quarterly/annual provision workpapers at public-company scale or
similar complexity; Big 4/public accounting experience strongly
preferred. Proficiency in ONESOURCE Tax Provision, including
UTB/FIN 48, valuation allowances, state apportionment, and core
admin tasks; comfortable supporting auditor interactions. Alteryx
experience: able to build and troubleshoot production workflows;
familiarity with SharePoint/Google Drive integrations and ERP data
pulls. Strong ASC 740 technical foundation; meticulous tie-outs,
reconciliations, and documentation; ability to translate results
into clear finance narratives. Proven delivery under tight close
timelines and cross-functional coordination. Proven experience with
process improvement/automation contributions with measurable
impact. Degree in accounting/finance; CPA track or CPA preferred.
MST or advanced tax coursework a plus. Experience supporting
SOX/internal controls over tax reporting (design/testing). Exposure
to international tax (CFCs, NCTI/FDII/BEAT, FTCs) and multi-state
issues. Experience in high-growth or transformational environments
(ERP upgrades, acquisitions, restructurings). LI-JG1 Additional
Details The base pay range for this position is expected in the
range below: $92,800 - $160,200 Base pay offered may vary depending
on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and
experience. The total compensation package for this position may
also include other elements, including a target bonus and
restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range
of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k)
eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and
