Overview of Responsibilities: The candidate will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day Accounting operations of the company and management of the Accounting team. The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive with an entrepreneurial style, eager to take initiative in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and will display a proven record of leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills. Specific Responsibilities: Support the Controller with financial report preparation, state information and tax reporting, regulatory compliance, audits, and other applicable tasks. Supervise a team of accounting employees (currently four) covering general accounting, A/P, A/R, and payroll. Oversee hiring and team development. Work with each team member to map out career path goals and identify opportunities and resources needed to achieve goals in a development plan. Support each team member on their career development journey through ongoing check-ins and updates. Coordinate monthly close process and related financial analysis, including preparing and reviewing monthly journal entries and corresponding analysis. Examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance with GAAP and internal reporting standards. Generate monthly and annual consolidated financial statements. Prepare financial and regulatory schedules required by bank covenants, as required. Oversee and coordinate the annual financial statement audit. Assist the Controller with bank review and collateral audits. Eagerly establish and maintain effective working relations with all teams within the company. Assists in developing and implementing financial management, accounting, and payroll goals, policies, priorities, and procedures. Protect the organization's value by keeping all information confidential. Protect employee and personnel information by keeping all information confidential. Qualifications: 8-10 years of relevant Accounting experience (preferably in a startup environment) with a track record of increasing responsibility BS/BBA in Accounting-related field, CPA preferred Thorough knowledge of GAAP and Excel Excellent time management skills Experience developing and managing a team Ability to navigate ambiguity and competing priorities with ease Detail-oriented and diligent International accounting and state tax experience is a plus but not required Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance 401k with matching eligibility Flexible PTO policy Mobile phone stipend Work with a passionate team of problem-solvers Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 5 - 10 years Bonus/Commission: No
