Lightspeed Systems is hiring a Staff/Senior Accountant to join our team.As a member of this team, you will help scale accounting processes for our fast-growing organization. You will be responsible for developing policies and procedures around vendor procurements, overseeing accounts payable, providing a depth of knowledge about tax accounting and payroll accounting. Success in this role will come from strict attention to detail around financial compliance and data validation as well as striving to improve our processes to support our business growth.ABOUT THE ROLEPrepare account reconciliationsAssist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesManage the vendor procurement process, including developing procurement policies and proceduresPrepare, process, and validate payroll for employees, including the administration of employee pay dataOversee accounts payable processes, especially in conjunction with vendor procurementResponsible for international accounting and related compliance for our UK officeEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local laws on tax accountingManage state tax agency accounts and notices, including opening new tax accounts in states as neededValidate financial data, review financial statements, and manage financial reportingAssist with external audits as neededPerform general accounting and other related duties for the organizationAssist the accounting manager with projects as neededApplicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the US. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment Visa at this time.ABOUT YOUBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceThree (3) to five (5) plus years of work experience in accountingKnowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles)Knowledge of tax accounting as well as federal, state, and local tax regulations and processesExperience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processAdvanced experience with Microsoft Excel and proficiency with other products in Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with accounting software (NetSuite preferred)Excellent organizational and communications skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentialityExperience with payroll accounting preferredKnowledge of or experience with international accounting preferredExperience with scaling payroll or accounting processes for mergers and acquisitions is a plusABOUT USFor over 20 years, Lightspeed Systems has been a leader in the ever-changing landscape of K-12 learning technology.
