Job Description:

The Cost Accountant is responsible for the various cost accounting and related functions associated with sales, cost of goods sold, variances and inventories, as well as assisting with month end general ledger close, all cost reports and other activities as assigned.Job responsibilities:Conduct daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problemsPrepare daily and monthly analysis of production cost variancesPrepare daily and monthly analysis of labor cost variancesMaintain other daily, weekly and monthly reports as required by Production and Warehouse departmentsEnsure accuracy of current cost and bill of material detail for all productsCalculate and update labor and overhead rates as neededReconcile inventory and assets to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy of reportingSupport Month End CloseSupport annual physical inventory countsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance2+ years cost accountingAdvanced Excel skillsStrong knowledge of GAAP in a cost environmentGood organizational, analytical problem solving and communication skills required.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Must be responsible and self-motivated.Willing to work extra hours as project or production needs dictate.Passion towards driving continuous improvement.Preferred Experience:Previous experience in a manufacturing environmentAbout Sovos Brands, Inc.Sovos Brands, Inc. is a consumer-packaged food company focused on acquiring and building disruptive growth brands that bring today's consumers great tasting food that fits the way they live.
