Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Hospital Operational Excellence
Leader that will lead and drive Financial Operational Excellence
projects within key Hospital accounts following a Lean 6 Sigma
DMAIC approach to enhance a customer's ability to pay on time. You
will be tasked with statistically reducing the ratio of outstanding
AR balances to paid balances through improvement of operational
processes within hospitals . You will be responsible for leading
cross functional task force teams to diagnose, root cause , and
remediate key factors resulting in delayed invoice payment. These
projects will require direct engagement with hospital executive
leaders to influence quick remediation of customer internal process
issues. You will be measured on your ability to keep our hospital
customers current on their payments going forward of your deployed

understanding of the Order to Cash Cycle as well as an in-depth
knowledge of payment processing process in hospitals.
- You will be responsible for creating tailored strategies to
triage the unique concerns presented at different hospital accounts
( over 5000 ship-to's ) which we engage with. This strategy will
entail forming temporary task forces to travel with you to key
accounts to provide needed expertise to root cause any issues
discovered and provide future support for the customer. This
requires you to work collaboratively with various functions
including Sales, Order Management, BT (if required), Accounts
Receivables, and Hospital stakeholders to aggressively drive the
progress until final implementation of the fixes that ensure issues
do not reoccur.
- You will be responsible for creating rapport with senior level
executives in hospitals to drive discussions on resolving financial
payment hurdles and ensure future customer engagement in AbbVie
payment practices. You will possess the confidence and presence in
these engagements to build trust and create win-win value
propositions.
- You will need to have in-dept knowledge of how hospital
internal Procure to Pay processes work. Building on that knowledge,
you will need to carry out in-depth data and process analysis to
formulate different strategies catering to various challenges
presented by different products, complex ordering and return
practices.
- You will be measured on your ability to statistically reduce
the ratio of outstanding AR invoices to paid invoices while also
resolving any issues that will prevent a customer from staying
current on future payments going forward.
- You will be called on to assess each customer's path forward
and will transition your improved process to the AR Collections
team to maintain once customers have established a record of
success (following a small period of assessment / transition). For
customers unable to improve, you will advise AR of your findings so
that they can determine the best next actions to limit Collections
risk.
- You will employ Lean Six Sigma statistical tools such as
Process Mapping, Capability analysis, Design of Experiments, ANOVA,
Chi Square, etc. in your strategy.
- Any other responsibilities deemed appropriate to the role.
- Min.10 years of experience in a combination of Process
Improvement and or a Financial Operations role focused on the OTC
(Order to Cash) process, ideally with at least 5 years of
Management experience.
- Min. Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Engineering or Science.
Master Degree Desired.
- Green Belt qualification required, Black Belt strongly
preferred
- Significant Commercial Operations or Customer Operations

- Demonstrate excellent problem solving skills and structured
problem solving
- Confident to liaise at all levels, articulate with good
presentation skills

- An ability to work/lead/assemble effective cross-functional
teams
