Lead Finance Specialist

Baker Hughes is a growing energy technology company with operations in over 120 countries. Reporting to the GHG Finance Controller you will be collaborating with the Sustainability team to implement and support greenhouse gas emissions accounting compliance across the enterprise. You will be a critical player in developing and executing processes and controls to report accurate, reliable and consistent emissions data.

This role will also include supporting the Baker Hughes strategy of pursuing US Federal Government Funding. You will be working with the GHG Finance Controller to design, document and implement financial processes and controls required to ensure compliance the US Federal Funding guidelines.

As Baker Hughes Lead Finance Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing internal controls that are effective, efficient, and properly controlled in order to deliver accurate and reliable data
  • Documenting SOP's and control framework covering all aspects of GHG Reporting and US Federal funding processes
  • Supporting audit and compliance requirements for emissions accounting and reporting
  • Building strong relationships with key Finance and Energy Transition stakeholders (Controllership, FP&A, etc.)
  • Developing and implementing finance standard processes to enhance controls over recording of costs incurred under federal funding awards to ensure strict compliance
  • Developing financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders and compliance to federal contract guidelines

    To be successful in this role you will:
    • Have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent
    • Have minimum 5 experience in finance
    • Have excellent oral and written skills
    • Be able to advance multiple priorities in parallel and work independently, prioritize workflow to meet critical deadlines while paying exceptionally close attention to detail
    • Have extensive analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Be a team player with unquestionable integrity
    • Have a track record of meeting tight deadlines, supporting operational project management and process change.
